Description
Milpower Source in Manchester, New Hampshire is seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems for our global product lines. This role is critical in driving innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring junior engineers while collaborating across cross‑functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, sales and supply chain. The Principal Electrical Engineer will define technical strategy, influence product architecture, and ensure robust, scalable, and manufacturable electrical solutions.
EssentialFunctions
- Lead the design and development of electrical circuits, systems, and components for new and existing products.
- Lead and mentor a team of Electrical Engineers and technicians.
- Design Power Converter Form spec to verification.
- Support failure analysis and root cause investigations of electrical issues in development and production.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers on cross‑functional product teams.
- Lead design reviews.
- Evaluate new components, technologies, and design methodologies for continuous improvement.
- Prepare technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, test plans, and engineering reports.
- Interface with global teams and suppliers to ensure project alignment and delivery.
- Serve as the technical authority and escalation point for complex electrical engineering issues.
- Participate in customer‑facing technical discussions and support key strategic programs as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in electrical design and product development, including system‑level design responsibility.
- Experience with regulatory compliance testing, certification processes and documentation.
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and embedded systems.
- Proven experience with high‑reliability or high‑volume manufacturing environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Familiarity with international safety and environmental standards.
- Experience working in a global team or multi‑site engineering environment.
- Experience with power conversion, battery systems or industrial control systems.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods in an office, lab, or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, engineering tools, and laboratory equipment.
- Occasional travel to manufacturing sites, suppliers, or customer locations may be required.
