Primary Responsibilities:

Monitor and review spent hours and dollars versus percent complete in relation to project timelines and budget and provide recommendations to the Project Manager to stay on track
Understand the client's organization and develop professional relationships with client peers
Develop proficiency in software programs and other tools to support construction inspection and review processes
Provide suggestions to resolve project timeline issues and budget issues
Provide peer mentoring for new construction technician staff
Review and approve progress payments submitted by the Contractor and monitor and advise the Contractor and the Client on potential cost overruns/underruns
Facilitate difficult project decisions and technical issues with clients and contractors
Ensure as-built field conditions are well documented and defended
Lead regular meetings with clients and contractors
Prepare, review, and approve change orders and value engineering proposals
Thoroughly review construction schedule, offer comments and recommendations to the Contractor and Client to resolve discrepancies, areas of conflict, potential schedule overruns

Requirements

Qualifications

BS or MS degree in civil engineering or a related field, and 5+ years of construction inspection experience
PE Licensure
Certification in OSHA 10 Construction and Confined Space for Construction, OR HAZWOPER
Valid driver's license
Certification in one or more of the programs offered by NICET, ACI, NETTCP or approved alternate
Ability to perform tasks that involve moderate to strenuous physical activity
Salary is contingent on experience
