Senior Mechanical Engineer – Test Equipment Development

What You Will Do- System Design & Analysis:
Lead the mechanical design, analysis, and continuous improvement of test interface mechanics for Allegro’s probe and final test equipment. Apply engineering principles to enhance the precision, reliability, and thermal performance of our automated systems. - Full-Cycle Development:
Drive projects through all phases of development, from generating detailed specifications and creating 3D parametric models to overseeing prototype builds and executing comprehensive validation plans. - New Technology Integration:
Serve as a technical stakeholder in the evaluation and selection of new OEM test equipment. Perform detailed engineering analysis and design reviews on new proposals and concepts to ensure they meet Allegro’s performance and reliability standards. - Electromagnetic Sub-Module Design:
Assist in the design, development, and validation of new configurations for electromagnetics, enabling test capabilities for next-generation products. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs into the overall test solution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- 5 to 10 years of related experience in the design and development of electro‑mechanical systems.
- Expert-level skill in 3‑D parametric design and solid modeling using software such as Autodesk Inventor, Solid Works, or Creo.
- Experience with the design, operation, and troubleshooting of high‑volume automated equipment, including a strong knowledge of precision alignment mechanisms.
- Experience in the thermal analysis and management of complex electro‑mechanical systems.
- A clear understanding of the main phases of project development with a proven track record of meeting deliverables and driving projects to successful completion.
- Experience with in the semiconductor industry, specifically with test handlers, probers, or similar automated equipment.
- Background in designing for high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with high/low voltage applications and the integration of contractors, relays, or circuit breakers into mechanical designs.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Prior experience mentoring junior team members.
Eligible applicants must reside in a state where Allegro currently has an office location. This includes New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Texas, and Michigan. Certain positions (such as field sales roles) may be exempt from this requirement.
