The role assists members and potential members with their Credit Union needs directly and through other Financial Service Representatives. The position provides expertise with respect to more complex Credit Union services such as IRAs, certificates of deposit, electronic funds transfer, home banking, and lending. The role explains services, sets up new accounts, responds to problems, directs members to appropriate personnel with their consumer lending needs, and processes consumer loans from start to finish.
EssentialFunctions & Responsibilities
- Welcomes members and completes transactions accurately and efficiently while sharing workload with other FSRs and embracing "Service Strategies" concepts.
- Opens accounts for new members, identifies perceived and unperceived needs, and maintains absolute confidentiality regarding member information.
- Stays current on products and services through ongoing training and applies sales strategies to maintain and grow membership, meeting annual sales goals.
- Interviews applicants to secure data for loan applications, completes consumer loan application and closes loans under supervision, and answers basic questions.
- Responds to all telephone and/or e‑mail correspondences on the same day they are received.
- Completes IRA and CD transactions and handles teller transactions to satisfy member needs.
- Maintains appropriate records and prepares required reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Experience in Member/Customer Service or Financial Service (required).
- Previous lending experience (preferred).
- High school education or GED (required); post‑secondary education desired.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Sales acumen, strong computer skills, detail‑oriented, multi‑tasking, organizational skills, basic math skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to sit for long periods.
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach.
- Member facing, fast paced, team oriented.
