AboutThe Job
As a Sonographer you will be responsible for producing high‑quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation. Most shifts and locations require staff to work as part of a team. Our department is always looking to grow and improve the services we provide to our community. Exams performed include and are not limited to:
Invasive Procedures (thoracentesis, paracentesis, thyroid FNA, renal and liver biopsy), OR cases, general abdominal and small parts, OB/GYN, MSK, liver elastography, pediatric, neurology, breast and vascular exams.
- Perform ultrasound procedures based on the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission standards (IAC) and adhere to the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) "Code of Ethics".
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients, licensed practitioners, and other members of the support team.
- Understand and adhere to departmental exam protocols.
- Use independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking.
- Successful completion of an accredited (CAAHEP) educational sonography program recognized by the ARDMS.
- Previous experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Preferred).
- Familiarity with neuro‑sonology, vascular scanning, abdominal, obstetrical, and gynecological scanning (Preferred).
- Compliant with Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (MIRT) prior to hire (Required).
- ARDMS registered (Preferred). OR registry eligible, must be obtained within 12 months from accepted employment (Required). Vascular registered within 18 months from accepted employment (Required).
