OverviewCome join Highgate for the summer in one of our dynamic internships! Our interns have the opportunity to work in multiple departments and rotate among multiple hotels. You will learn about the hospitality industry while working in a fun and fast‑paced environment. Submit your resume today for consideration! Responsibilities- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service‑oriented manner.
- Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service‑oriented manner.
- Attend all hotel‑required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
- Cross‑train in other hotel‑related areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
- High level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Direct involvement with management and employees; strong communication skills are required.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment, provide feedback to management, and have strong follow‑through.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
