Health Service IT Assistant
Position
Purpose:
This one‑year term position supports the Health Service IT team by acting as a departmental customer service agent, assisting staff with clinical and administrative systems, and contributing to several large projects over the next year, including inventory management, device setup, report creation, and issue troubleshooting.
- 50% Troubleshoot and address issues reported by staff and campus services that affect DSHS systems.
- 20% Manage Health Services computer inventory via the Campus CAP program, including ordering and configuring desktops, laptops, and monitors.
- 20% Manage user account processes, including updating and creating PNC user accounts, EDH access, and Castries configuration.
- 10% Assist with SHS IT project management tasks such as correcting medical‑record data errors, updating user & provider tables in PNC, setting up billable services in the PNC Billing module, and establishing a waiver process for DSGHP through PNC Billing.
- Demonstrate professionalism and collegiality in all interactions and communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
Associate’s degree in computer science or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Experience:
At least one year of experience with complex administrative information systems (two years preferred, especially in a college or university healthcare setting).
Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to diversity and serving the needs of a diverse population.
- Experience supporting an electronic medical record system (preferred).
