Pay Range - $97,926.40- $/yr - plus a comprehensive benefits package

General Statement Of Duties:

Ensures effective operations and information technology (IT) infrastructure throughout all life-cycle phases to meet the business needs of the Airport. Plans, organizes and directs the operations and activities of the Airport's Information Technology Department; performs directly related work as required.

Distinguishing Features Of The Class:

The principal function of an employee in this class is to provide administrative oversight and strategic direction to all operations and activities of the Airport's Information Technology Department. The work is performed under the direction of the Deputy Aviation Director but extensive leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative. Supervision is exercised over the work of all employees within the Airport's Information Technology Department.

The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Airport business units, tenants, business partners, local, state and federal officials, outside vendors, and members of the public. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment.

Examples Of Essential Work:
  • Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the work of the Airport Information Technology Department in implementing the expressed goals, policies and procedures of the Airport;
  • Develops policies and procedures designed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Airport's IT Departmental operations and addresses Airport technology needs;
  • Develops and administers the Airport's IT Departmental budget;
  • Oversight of Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance by vendors, concessionaires, and business partners;
  • Develops and administers Airport cybersecurity and IT emergency response plan;
  • Confers with the Airport management team to track implementation of key performance indicators;
  • Provides status reports and makes recommendations to the Airport senior management team on Departmental operations, any major shift in IT policies or procedures and recommendations for future enhancements and development and future information needs through appropriate technologies and services;
  • Directs the strategic planning, policy development, data collection and reporting activities of the Airport's IT Department;
  • Directs the implementation of new communication and information systems initiatives to meet current and future information needs through appropriate technologies and services;
  • Directs and participates in the establishment of goals and objectives for information processing and retrieval resources, office automation, local and wide area networking, GIS operations, telecommunications and related fields;
  • Evaluates, selects and acquires all data processing equipment and software for Airport departments;
  • Establishes and oversees Airport training programs related to Airport equipment and information technology;
  • Establishes security and related policies and procedures to safeguard the Airport's vital information maintained electronically;
  • Advises the Airport senior management team of the use and capabilities of management information systems;
  • Identifies and mitigates IT-related risks, including cybersecurity threats, data breaches, and technology failures;
  • Delivers a positive user experience for employees and customers by ensuring that IT systems and applications are user-friendly and meets their needs;
  • Ensures that the organization complies with relevant laws and regulations related to IT and data management, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or industry-specific standards;
  • Communicates IT strategies, projects, and performance to executive leadership, department heads, and other stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner;
  • Oversees IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet their objectives, including project prioritization and resource allocation;
