Overview

The Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) IBioFabUSA is a member‑based non‑profit, member‑driven, public‑private partnership with a mission to advance the bioeconomy and transform the future of human health. ARMI provides technical and wrap‑around commercialization services to companies seeking to advance technologies that will contribute to this impact.

The Impact That You Will Make

The Junior Buyer/Planner role is critical to the evolution of ARMI into a GMP manufacturing organization. In this role, you will support the current Process Development Operations and a growing CDMO team through execution of purchasing, receiving, and materials coordination activities across a dynamic and fast‑paced environment. This role is responsible for ensuring materials, supplies, equipment, and services move efficiently from request to receipt while supporting compliance with internal procedures and project timelines.

The Junior Buyer/Planner will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, finance, and receiving to resolve issues, improve processes, and participate in continuous improvement efforts. This role will also be actively involved in the rollout of Rockwell's Pharma Suite MES system. Reporting to BioFabUSA's Sr. Director of Operations, you will contribute to the operational success of both a high‑performing Laboratory Support team and a growing CDMO team.

Your

Role
  • Tactically support the current Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) by executing day‑to‑day purchasing activities, including obtaining quotes, creating purchase requests, placing orders, tracking status, supplier follow up, invoice reconciliation and order returns.
  • Engage with project teams to develop material lists, expected usage, procurement plans and obtain competitive quotes to achieve optimal balance between cost, quality and delivery.
  • Monitor status of purchase order process to ensure on‑time delivery (timely resolution and communication of purchase requisition approvals, purchase order placement, order confirmation, receipt, invoice, return and quality issues).
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify practical solutions to material availability issues, including alternate pack sizes, substitute options, or order updates when needed.
  • Maintain ARMI's cloud‑based Procurement system (Prendio), as directed.
  • Expedite materials deliveries as needed and explore other options with suppliers to avoid late deliveries and stock‑outs.
  • Support inventory management and replenishment processes, including consumables purchasing and Kanban or Min/Max workflows.
  • Help maintain and improve procurement and receiving SOPs, standard work, and related documentation to drive consistency, compliance, and process improvement.
Your Skills And Experiences
  • High school diploma required, associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a healthcare‑related field preferred.
  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, receiving, inventory control, materials coordination, or a related operational role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated self‑starter with the ability to execute defined processes with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in an SOP‑driven, regulated, or compliance‑focused environment preferred.
  • Experience with inventory systems, Kanban, or Min/Max replenishment processes.
  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs, including occasional overhead lifting, is required.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
  • Previous working experience with cloud‑based P2P systems.
  • Commitment to quality, scientific integrity, and company mission.
  • Strong analytical and proactive problem‑solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
