Gentex Corporation seeks a Material Handling & Logistics Supervisor to lead warehouse, inventory, and shipping/receiving operations supporting defense and aerospace products. Reporting to Supply Chain, Logistics & Procurement, you will supervise a team handling materials for high-reliability manufacturing, ensure accurate and timely movement of components, and maintain compliance with quality, safety, and defense/aerospace regulations. You'll optimize storage and material flow, track KPIs, and drive lean, data-driven improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams in an innovative, quality-focused culture.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily material handling and logistics operations supporting defense and aerospace programs
- Coordinate inbound/outbound shipments, inventory movements, and warehouse storage optimization
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and defense/aerospace material control standards (e.g., ITAR/EAR)
- Lead and develop a team of material handlers, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback
- Monitor KPIs for accuracy, on time delivery, and throughput; drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics & Procurement to support production schedules and customer needs
- Maintain accurate system transactions in ERP/WMS and reconcile inventory discrepancies
- Implement and enforce safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and equipment inspection routines
