Custodian - Part Time

The YMCA of Downtown Manchester is hiring a Custodian/Housekeeper to support our building that provides many valuable services and programs for our Greater Manchester community. The Custodian is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the YMCA facility. The Custodian is required to maintain a level of cleanliness to be able to open for normal business; attention to detail, technical know-how, problem solving, and safety skills are key for this position.

Monday – Friday, Flexible schedule as needed

Flexibility to support weekends throughout the winter preferred

• Cleaning of facilities such as women's and family locker rooms
• Ensure the buildings and grounds are kept in a safe and clean order through use of custodial skills and collaboration with other Facilities/branch staff
• Cleaning of building facilities such as restrooms, offices, fitness studios, classrooms and common areas following assigned procedures
• Duties will include replenishing stock in bathrooms, gathering and emptying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, monitoring building safety and security and dusting
• Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving minor and day‑today custodial‑related issues, and seek assistance/elevate large projects as needed
• Effectively maintain knowledge of branch operations to proactively support ongoing events, programs and needs

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience working in custodial operations preferred
• Must be able to read and follow safety instructions on cleaning agent chemicals required to complete the job
