Job Summary: To support the development of profitable new products to aid in the growth of the Velcro companies' medical business (including prototyping, sample preparation, and working in a team environment).
Essential Job Functions- Review test methods used for evaluating medical devices with inflatable bladders. If required, collaborate with R&D lab manager to develop test methods.
- Design and build fixtures for testing medical devices with inflatable bladders.
- Identify various materials that can be used to form airtight bladders and the vendors that can provide said materials.
- Evaluate the manufacturability of medical devices with inflatable bladders using different material combinations. Use lab equipment including but not limited to RF welders, ultrasonic welders, sewing machines and heat sealers.
- Identify and work with suppliers who design and manufacture automation equipment.
- Third or fourth year student pursuing BS Degree in Engineering discipline.
- Experience with Solidworks or other CAD software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office.
- Proficient in data analysis. Minitab experience preferred.
- Ability to prepare concise reports.
- Ability to present to small groups.
