Launch Your Career at the Intersection of Global Affairs and Community Impact

Events and Education Coordinator

Are you early in your career and looking for meaningful work that builds real responsibility, leadership skills, and professional growth?

The World Affairs Council of New Hampshire is seeking an energetic, organized, and mission‑driven Events and Education Coordinator to help bring global conversations to communities across the Granite State.

This is an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in event management, communications, marketing, livestream production, nonprofit operations, and education programming — all while working directly with diplomats, scholars, journalists, and policy leaders.

If you’re someone who likes to take ownership of projects, solve problems, and see the tangible impact of your work, this role offers exceptional growth potential.

What You’ll Do

Lead and Grow Public Events (Approximately 75%)

WACNH hosts 20–30 events per year, both in‑person and online. You will:

  • Coordinate logistics for events from start to finish
  • Communicate with speakers, venues, caterers, and partners
  • Create timelines and manage event‑day execution
  • Oversee registration and attendee experience
  • Promote events through social media, community calendars, and outreach
  • Help grow both in‑person audiences and online viewership
  • Manage livestream and basic AV technology (training provided)
  • Update and maintain event information on the website

You won’t just assist — you’ll take ownership. This role offers meaningful responsibility and the chance to develop highly transferable professional skills.

Expand Educational Impact Across New Hampshire (Approximately 25%)

WACNH runs diplomacy simulations in schools across the state. You will:

  • Conduct outreach to schools
  • Coordinate logistics and materials
  • Support on‑site program facilitation
  • Help expand student engagement in global learning

This is a chance to directly impact young people and strengthen civic education statewide.

What Makes You a Strong Candidate

We welcome candidates who are early in their professional journey.

You might be a great fit if you are:

  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented
  • A strong communicator (written and verbal)
  • Comfortable using social media and digital tools
  • Curious about international affairs and global issues
  • Excited by responsibility and learning new skills
  • Willing to occasionally work evenings for events

Previous event or livestream experience is a plus — but not required. We value initiative, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.

What You’ll Gain
  • Direct access to global thought leaders and policymakers
  • Experience managing high‑level public programs
  • Hands‑on marketing and audience development skills
  • Livestream and digital event production experience
  • School outreach and education program coordination experience
  • A strong professional network in New Hampshire and beyond

This is an ideal role for someone interested in careers in nonprofit leadership, public affairs, communications, diplomacy, education, or event management.

About WACNH

The World Affairs Council of New Hampshire is a nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to fostering informed dialogue on international issues. We connect local communities with global leaders and create educational opportunities that prepare the next generation for civic engagement.

If you’re ready to build your skills, expand your network, and contribute to meaningful global conversations, we encourage you to apply.

Please submit a resume and cover letter to WACNH Executive Director, Tim Horgan, explaining your interest in the role and how it aligns with your professional goals.
