Our highly trained staff of doctors, nurses, technicians, and therapists provides the highest quality care for our patients. The lab offers comprehensive diagnostic services using the latest technology including cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, CT scans, MRI scans, and nuclear imaging. We also specialize in interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, arrhythmia treatment, ventricular assist devices, and valve repair or replacement.
** About the Job:
** As a Cath Lab RN at Elliot Hospital, you will provide the highest quality of care for our patients with cardiovascular conditions. You will be part of a team that performs advanced procedures such as cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, and valve repair or replacement.

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Invasive Cardiology Recovery in the Cardiac Cath Lab unit is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing invasive catheterization procedures. This includes admitting and preparing patients for procedures, monitoring and recovering patients’ post-procedure, and assisting physicians during transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and electro cardioversions (ECVs). The RN ensures patient safety, comfort, and education throughout the continuum of care.

* What You’ll Do:

** Patient Admission & Preparation
* Perform comprehensive nursing assessments upon patient admission.
* Review patient history, allergies, and medications; ensure informed consent is obtained.
* Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology procedures and other related procedures according to established protocols.

Procedure Support
* Assist physicians during transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), ensuring proper patient positioning and monitoring.
* Maintain sterile technique and manage equipment during procedures.

Recovery & Post-Procedure Care
* Monitor patients during recovery for hemodynamic stability and signs of complications.
* Provide pain management, wound care, and patient education regarding post-procedure instructions.
* Document all care provided accurately in the electronic health record.

Collaboration & Communication
* Collaborate with the Cath Lab team to carry out daily operational responsibilities.
* Work closely with cardiologists, technologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
* Ensures all ordered testing is available for review by the cardiologist prior to admission.
* Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions prior to procedure.

Compliance & Safety
* Adhere to hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain current knowledge of best practices in cardiac care.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
** Who You Are:
*** Graduate of accredited nursing program. Bachelor’s Degree required.
* New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse license required.
* Ability to obtain BLS and ACLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment.
* One (1) to two (2) years telemetry or related cardiac/critical care experience
* Sound knowledge of cardiovascular health and related diagnostic services
* Clinical assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills.
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong ability to problem solves and multitask.
* Ability to advance basic computer skills as the health system adds new systems or performs upgrades to existing systems.
