Overview

Mercy St Louis Hospital Operating Room

Registered Nurse (RN) - First Assistant CALL POSITION

Seeking RNFA Experience! Must have 2 years' experience!

Who We Are

Mercy OR conducts a variety of cases including Orthopedics, Neurology, General Services. RNs are typically hired into one of these specialty pods and may have the opportunity to cross‑train to other pods in the department.

The RN First Assistant practices perioperative nursing and has acquired the knowledge, skills, and judgment through organized instruction and supervised practice to first or second assist the surgeon in the operating room. The intraoperative activities of the RN first assistant must be supervised by a surgeon.

Qualifications
  • Licensure: RN License in the state of MO
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 2 years intraoperative experience
  • Certifications:

    CNOR and RN‑First Assistant class required within one year of hire/transfer.
  • BLS/ACLS required within first year.
Preferred Education

BSN Degree

Preferred Certifications
  • CNOR
  • CRNFA
