Job Description
Title
Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry Registered Nurse

Schedule

- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend

Assignment Details
- Patient ratio: 1:6
- Average daily census: ~25

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of geriatric psychiatric inpatient experience
- Minimum 1 year of med-surg experience
- Required certifications: BCLS (BLS) and CPI
- Comfort with hands-on care for cognitively impaired/behavioral patients

- Experience with IV therapy preferred
- Local travelers within 50 miles accepted

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to geriatric psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions and respond to behavioral crises.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Epic charting system.
- Conduct safety checks and provide one-on-one care as required.

Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 32 hours
- Drug screen required within 14 days of start
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
