Job Overview
Position:
Licensed Nursing Assistant – Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit (CICU)
Hours:
36 hours per week, full-time, 12‑hour shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.) on days, three shifts per week with every other weekend commitment.
The CICU is a 47‑bed unit with a typical census of 46–47 patients. The unit has 149 employees and specializes in cardiac/telemetry, S/P catheter, pacer, ICD, stroke & seizure, GI bleed, sepsis, and med/surg overflow. Nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 1:4 and LNA‑to‑patient ratio is 1:10, depending on census.
Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN and within the scope of a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA).
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, personal care, emotional support, and age‑specific needs.
- Perform clinical tasks within LNA scope of practice per policies and procedures.
- Observe and report changes in patient status, symptoms, and deviations from normal to the RN.
- Document relevant information in the medical record as appropriate.
- Follow infection prevention/universal precautions policies and safety principles.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, privacy, and dignity.
- Support team members, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Minimum of two (2) years of current experience in an acute care setting.
- Current New Hampshire Nursing Assistant License required.
- Proficiency and in‑depth knowledge of nursing practice at a clinical level.
- BLS authorization preferred or to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Medical, Dental, Vision – starting the first of the month following hire date.
- Accrued Earned Time.
