Registered Nurse - Maternity Nights

Elliot Hospital’s Women's and Children's Services are dedicated to addressing the specific health and wellness needs of women and their children. Our Maternity unit is a 24‑26 bed unit averaging 14 mother/baby patients with 55 employees. Patients are high and low risk postpartum mom & babies 35 weeks gestation and above, substance‑exposed infants, management of hyperbilirubinemia and hypoglycemia in the newborn, as well as post gynecological surgery.

The Registered Nurse on Maternity cares for high and low risk postpartum mom and babies for 2‑3 nights following birth (2 nights for vaginal and 3 nights for cesarean).

• Embraces and promotes change to support optimal patient outcomes and an effective professional practice environment.
• Involves patient/family in goal setting and planning, and communicates that plan of care to patient and family for input; and to colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts and settings.
• Utilizes current evidence and relevant national/specialty standards to guide practice and/or performance and identifies areas for improvement.
• Demonstrates competent clinical practice utilizing clinical decision making and critical thinking skills.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN – BSN preferred)
• Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required
• Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment – ACLS preferred
