The Academic Education Specialist role is a strategic partnership between the Hospital and Partner College to increase student capacity, strengthen the clinical education pipeline, and enhance the workforce pipeline into the hospital. The individual will serve as a hospital-based faculty member who supports student clinical placements in the hospital and oversees nursing clinical placements to expand opportunities and strengthen the learning environment.
The Academic Education Specialist will act as a facilitator of learning and serve as a change agent, mentor, leader, champion of scientific inquiry, and a partner for practice transition. This role will use tools, theories, skills, and knowledge of academic and nursing professional development specialties to support the clinical rotations of nursing students.
Master of Science in Nursing required. Current New Hampshire or multistate licensure as a Registered Nurse. Life support authorization (BLS) required. Professional specialty certification is preferred. Minimum of two (2) years’ preceptor and medical-surgical RN experience. Teaching experience preferred. Ability to advance basic computer skills as the health system adds new systems or performs upgrades to existing systems. Ability to present content in multimodal ways.
Ability to work independently and multitask in a high-paced environment on tight timelines.
