American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring telemetry and critical care experience with a mixed medical-surgical patient population.
Requirements- Active RN license (NH or Compact) required in hand prior to consideration
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required
- Telemetry experience required
- PCU experience or greater strongly preferred
- Experience with critical drips and ventilators preferred
- Prior ICU experience preferred
- No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- 20-bed Intensive Care Unit setting in a hospital environment
- Mixed medical and surgical ICU patient population
- Variable patient ratios based on acuity: ECMO 2:1, post open heart surgery 1:1, critical ICU/devices 1:1, typical ICU 1:2, stepdown 1:3-4
- Utilizes IV pumps, telemetry monitors, Hoyer/stand lifts, Impella, IABP, CRRT (NxStage), bladder scanner, Bair Hugger, rapid transfuser, Blanketrol, chest tubes, vein finder, Sorin retransfuser, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP
- Uses Sunrise EMR
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment
- Every third weekend required, no on-call responsibilities
- Floating to Progressive Care unit required
- Perform procedures including pericardiocentesis with drains, thoracentesis, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion, intubation, TEE cardioversion, TTE, and transvenous pacing wire insertion
- Work alongside a care team including 1 charge nurse, 8-10 RNs, 1-3 LNAs, and PRN sitters per shift
- Best suited for candidates who are organized and easily adaptable
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
