Registered Nurse – Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) - 2 Years of Nursing Experience Required

2019s Services are dedicated to addressing the specific health and wellness needs of women and their children. The Elliot NICU is the only Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit in southern New Hampshire, taking care of babies 24 weeks in gestation to term who are critically ill using high-tech resources and a team of dedicated professionals specializing in premature infant care.

Our state-of-the-art facility houses 26-beds (isolettes), where we treat more than 400 critically ill and premature infants each year.

About The Job

The Registered Nurse on NICU performs total body cooling, nitric oxide administration, close observation, attention, and intervention for the very unique needs of each patient. NICU nurses have extensive training and experience in the care of sick newborns. They will care for baby 24 hours a day. Nurses are the first person to ask if there are concerns or questions about a baby’s care and they will help educate families in becoming more involved.

You’ll Do
  • Embraces and promotes change to support optimal patient outcomes and an effective professional practice environment.
  • Involves patient/family in goal setting and planning, and communicates that plan of care to patient and family for input; and to colleagues to ensure seamless care across shifts and settings.
  • Utilizes current evidence and relevant national/specialty standards to guide practice and/or performance and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrates competent clinical practice utilizing clinical decision making and critical thinking skills.
Who You Are
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ASN or BSN – BSN preferred)
  • Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate licensure as Registered Nurse required
  • Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment – ACLS preferred
