Registered Nurse – PreOp

$1958.40/week –

Job Summary:

The Pre Op RN will provide specialized preoperative nursing care for patients scheduled for surgery, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the preoperative process. This role requires collaboration with surgical teams and adherence to hospital protocols to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ health status and review medical histories prior to surgery.
• Prepare patients physically and emotionally for procedures by explaining routines and addressing concerns.
• Administer medications and ensure proper completion of preoperative documentation.
• Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical, and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, including infection control, safety protocols, and dress code standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current state certification.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a perioperative or critical care environment.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and familiarity with Meditech Expanse system.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week plus call, with flexibility to work in both Pre Op and PACU areas.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
