American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN to provide ED SURGE coverage for inpatient/CICU-level holds, requiring 2 years of recent PCU experience.
Details- Hospital setting within an ED SURGE unit caring for inpatient/CICU level holds in the ED
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Patient population includes chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, and pneumonia
- Overflow coverage for medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic patients
- Cares for post-cath with stent patients (no CABG), ICD/pacer insertions, and cardioversions
- Manages and titrates cardiac and vasoactive drips including Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labetalol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine
- Uses BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, and Phillips monitoring system
- Floating expected to similar units using a Helping Hands/Team Nursing approach
- Patient sitting may be required, matched to clinical assignment and team
- No Thanksgiving RTO
- Active RN license (NH state or compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with a strong PCU background within the last year
- ED experience preferred but not required
- EPIC EMR experience required for first-time travelers
- EKG test required upon arrival
- Experience managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
- Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur Evac) and tracheostomy care preferred
- Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
- Care for a mix of cardiac, respiratory, and overflow medical-surgical patients within an ED SURGE environment
- Participate in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team activation
- Provide IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration as needed
- First-time travelers accepted only with EPIC experience and 2 years of relevant experience
- Former staff not eligible for consideration regardless of separation time
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility accepted at the local rate
- Only AHA and Red Cross certification copies accepted
