American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Stepdown Cardiac/ED Surge position requiring 2 years of recent PCU experience and cardiac drip titration skills.

• Active RN license (NH State or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA or Red Cross only)
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including strong PCU background within the last year
• ED experience preferred but not required
• EPIC EMR experience required for first-time travelers
• Required skills:
  
  managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips (Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry required
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, and Vapotherm required
• Experience with Alaris pumps and Phillips monitoring system required
• Chest tube (Emerson/Pleur Evac) and tracheostomy care experience preferred
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• EKG test required upon arrival
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

• Assignment involves caring for inpatient/CICU level holds within the ED unit
• Patient population includes chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, and pneumonia
• Overflow patients may include medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic cases
• Cares for patients post cardiac catheterization with stent placement (no CABG), ICD/pacer insertions, and cardioversions
• Performs sheath removal and pre/post cardiac cath care
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Works every other weekend
• Unit follows a Helping Hands/Team Nursing approach and may float to similar units
• Will not be assigned patients outside of clinical assignment or team scope
• First-time travelers accepted only with EPIC experience and 2 years of RN experience
• No Thanksgiving RTO permitted
• Former staff of the facility are not eligible for this travel role regardless of separation time
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate
• Drug screen must be completed within 14 days of start date
