American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown Cardiac RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of recent PCU experience and drip titration skills
Requirements- Active RN license (NH state or compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with strong PCU background within the last year
- ED experience preferred but not required
- EKG test required upon arrival
- Required to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips including Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labetalol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine
- Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management required
- Sheath removal and pre/post cardiac cath care preferred
- EPIC charting experience required for candidates without prior travel experience
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
- Position based in the Stepdown Cardiac unit, contracted through the ED to care for inpatient/CICU level holds in the ED
- Patient population includes chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, s/p cath with stent, ICD/pacer insertions, and cardioversions
- Overflow coverage for Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Oncology, and Orthopedic patients as needed
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Floating expected to similar units using a Helping Hands/Team Nursing approach, with assignments matched to clinical skill set
- Uses BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, and Phillips monitoring system
- EPIC charting experience required for first-time travelers
- Provide direct care for cardiac stepdown and overflow patients, including drip management and cardiac monitoring
- Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
- No RTO accepted for Thanksgiving
- First-time travelers accepted only with EPIC experience and at least 2 years of nursing experience
- Former staff members are not eligible for consideration regardless of separation timeframe
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate
- Only AHA and American Red Cross certifications are accepted
- Drug screen must be completed within 14 days of start date
