Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department position requiring Level II Trauma experience, Epic proficiency, and NH or compact RN licensure.

Details
  • Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department with combined adult and pediatric population
  • Average daily census of 70 patients with 160 visits per day, 36 rooms and 50 beds
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7p-7:30a), 3x12 schedule, 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating expected under a Helping Hands/Team Nursing approach, including to ICU and ED for support and patient sitting
  • Will not be assigned patients outside clinical assignment or team
  • Handles diagnoses ranging from minor injuries to complex trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, and OB/GYN emergencies
  • Performs procedures including conscious sedation, trauma/stroke alerts, cath lab activation, and SANE consultations
  • Uses specialized equipment including Point of Care US/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology
  • Utilizes Omnicell, Epic, SBAR, and Voalte systems for medication, documentation, and communication
Requirements
  • Active RN license (NH state or compact) required
  • BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required;
    Level I Trauma and pediatric experience highly preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience in triage and emergency medication administration
  • Neurological and CVA care experience required
  • Only AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across the lifespan for a high-volume, high-acuity ER population
  • 36-hour orientation consisting of one week of class and clinical time
  • Scrub color is not restricted
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
  • Candidates who were previously employed by any facility within the associated health system are not eligible, regardless of separation length
  • Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced travel rate
  • Two professional references required, ideally from a supervisor within the past 2 years
  • Drug screen must be completed within 14 days of start date
