American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Dept RN for a Level II Trauma Center with strong pediatric presence, requiring prior travel experience and NH or compact RN license.
Details- Level II Trauma Center General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric populations
- High-volume unit with average daily census of 70, 160 visits per day, 36 rooms and 50 beds
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating expected to ICU and ED under a helping hands/team nursing approach, with patient sitting duties as needed
- Patients are only assigned within clinical scope of the assigned team
- Uses Epic for documentation, Omnicell for medication management, SBAR for communication, and Voalte for unit communication
- Specialized procedures include conscious sedation, trauma alerts, stroke alerts, cath lab activation, and SANE consultations
- Utilizes Point of Care Ultrasound/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology equipment
- Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
- Level II Trauma Center experience required, Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
- Pediatric population experience highly preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and IV insertion/maintenance
- Skilled in neurological assessment and CVA management
- Experience with emergency medication administration
- Experience interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias
- Triage experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Care for patients across the lifespan with diagnoses ranging from minor injuries to complex trauma, including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, psychiatric emergencies, and abuse/assault evaluations
- 36-hour unit orientation consisting of one week of class and clinical time
- Scrubs of any color permitted
- Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former employees of facilities associated with the health system are not eligible for consideration, regardless of separation length
- Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a reduced rate
