Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced, Level II Trauma Emergency Department requiring prior ER and trauma experience plus Epic proficiency.

Details
  • Work in a combined Adult/Pediatric General Emergency Department at a Level II Trauma Center
  • High-volume unit with average daily census of 70, 160 visits/day, 36 rooms, and 50 beds
  • Patient population spans all ages and acuities, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric emergencies
  • Special procedures include conscious sedation, trauma/stroke alerts, cath lab activation, and SANE consultations
  • Specialized equipment includes Point of Care US/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology
  • Charting and communication systems include Epic, Omnicell, SBAR, and Voalte
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 48 hours per pay period
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating expected to ICU and ED under a helping hands/team nursing approach, with patient sitting duties as needed
  • No on-call requirements
Requirements
  • Active RN license (NH or compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required;
    Level I Trauma experience preferred
  • Strong pediatric population experience highly preferred
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC (AHA or American Red Cross only)
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, neurological and CVA care, emergency medication administration, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
  • Travel experience required
  • References required, with one pending reference accepted to begin consideration
  • Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained
  • Drug screening must be completed within 14 days of start date
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency nursing care across the lifespan for a wide range of chief complaints, from minor injuries to complex trauma and medical emergencies
  • Work within a team nursing/helping hands model, assisting other units as needed while maintaining clinical assignment boundaries
  • Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
  • Unit orientation consists of 36 hours over one week of class and clinical time
  • Scrubs may be any color
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Former employees of any facility associated with Solution Health are not eligible, regardless of time since separation
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate
