Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department role requiring 2+ years ER experience, Level II trauma background, and Epic proficiency.

Details
  • Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department with combined adult/pediatric population
  • Average daily census of 70 with 160 visits per day across 36 rooms and 50 beds
  • Evening shift, 3x12 hours (3:00pm-3:30am), 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating expected to ICU and ED under a Helping Hands/Team Nursing approach, including patient sitting
  • Patients remain within assigned clinical team scope
  • Treats diagnoses across the lifespan including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, GI/GU/OB, sepsis, and abuse/assault evaluations
  • Performs special procedures including conscious sedation, trauma alerts, stroke alerts, cath lab activation, and SANE consultations
  • Utilizes specialized equipment including Point of Care Ultrasound/USGPIV, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and Teleneurology
  • Unit systems include Omnicell, Epic, SBAR, and Voalte
  • 36-hour orientation including 1 week of class and clinical time
Requirements
  • Active RN license, New Hampshire or Compact, required at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
  • Level II Trauma Center experience required;
    Level I Trauma and pediatric experience highly preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, TNCC (AHA or American Red Cross only)
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, IV starts and maintenance, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, triage, and emergency medication administration
  • Previous travel RN experience required
  • References required, with one pending reference accepted to begin the process
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute and complex diagnoses for adult and pediatric patients
  • Work within a team nursing/helping hands model with float support to ICU and ED
  • Any color scrubs permitted
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Former employees of any facility associated with the health system are not eligible for consideration, regardless of separation length
  • Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced local rate
  • Drug screening must be completed within 14 days of the start date
