Raytheon is seeking a Material Verification Engineer to support the evaluation, disposition, and management of nonconforming material across Raytheon facilities and our third-party logistics (3PL) partner, GXO.
In this hands‑on role, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment and support inspection processes for supplied materials and products. Your expertise will be directly applied to strengthening the success of Raytheon Operations Quality. This is an onsite position based at Raytheon's third-party logistics (3PL) partner, GXO, in Manchester, NH.
- Identify, evaluate, and disposition nonconforming material in accordance with quality and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate Return-to-Vendor (RTV) activities to resolve quality issues and expedite material disposition.
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams, including engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, production control, maintenance, program management, and technical support, to achieve organizational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality management system requirements.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using the RTX CORE methodology.
- Work with Raytheon suppliers to drive timely closure of material on-hold.
- Partner with inspectors to ensure efficient movement of material through the inspection and engineering disposition process.
- Make material disposition decisions that prioritize quality while also balancing schedule and program delivery requirements.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of Raytheon's material review and disposition processes in support of a complex aerospace and defense manufacturing environment.
- Develop expertise in nonconforming material management, supplier quality, and Return-to-Vendor (RTV) processes.
- Strengthen decision-making skills by balancing technical, quality, contractual, and program requirements.
- Build cross-functional partnerships with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, program management, and quality teams.
- Learn to apply RTX CORE continuous improvement methodologies to drive process improvements and operational excellence.
- Expand knowledge of aerospace quality standards and root cause and corrective action (RCCA) methodologies.
- Develop proficiency in Raytheon systems and tools, including PRISM, Wave Trak, and RCAS.
- Enhance leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) discipline and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience in a quality environment, OR an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
