** The job details are as follows:
** What We DoWe are the first publicly-traded biotech or pharmaceutical company to take the form of a public benefit corporation. Our public benefit purpose is to provide a brighter future for patients through the development of novel pharmaceutical therapies; and technologies that expand the availability of transplantable organs.
United Therapeutics (Nasdaq: UTHR) seeks to travel down the corridors of indifference to develop treatments for rare, deadly diseases. We were founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter’s pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD) and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our near-term pipeline seeks to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF).
The cure for end-stage life-threatening diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and many others is an organ transplant, but only a small percentage of donated organs are available to address the vast need. For this reason, we are working to create manufactured organs to address the shortage of kidneys, hearts, lungs, and livers available for transplant. We believe an unlimited supply of tolerable, transplantable organs will eliminate the transplant waiting list and cure end-stage organ diseases for which transplant is not currently an option.

United Therapeutics does not provide relocation assistance, housing, or transportation. The selected Co-op will need to be onsite at the Manchester, NH office for the entire duration of this co-op role, from ASAP (no later then August) to December 2026.Who You Are:

If you’re excited by stem cells, real lab work, and science that has the potential to change lives, this co‐op puts you right where it counts. Over six months, you’ll work hands‐on with the Cell Production team to culture, expand, and differentiate iPSC‐derived lung cell populations—helping build the cellular foundation for lab‐grown organs. From running bioreactors and optimizing media to assessing cell quality using imaging and flow cytometry, you’ll turn your academic knowledge into tangible results.

You’ll own meaningful experimental work, contribute to real R&D programs, and gain exposure to the kind of cutting‐edge cell manufacturing skills that set you apart early in your career. If you’re curious, detail‐oriented, and motivated by biotech with a bigger purpose, this experience is built for you.

This Co-op will assist a project lead/scientist with in one of the following areas:

Perform routine iPSC culture, expansion, and differentiation in 2D monolayer and 3D suspension formats (bioreactors), including microcarrier- and aggregate-based systems. Perform media formulation activities, including small-scale optimization, bulk media preparation, and documentation. Assist with setup, operation, sampling, and maintenance of bioreactor systems, supporting scale-up and process optimization activities.

Coops are educational positions requiring basic knowledge and understanding of (bio) material science fundamentals, 3D printing processes, tissue engineering, and manufacturing to support research and development in production of 3D-printed lung scaffolds suitable for recellularization.  This coop will include a project/deliverable that will be completed during employment and will utilize academic foundations to further career aspirations.
* Develop methods for differentiation of Lung cell populations from iPSCs under direct/indirect supervision.
* Particularly this project will include work on Lung Progenitors, Airway Basal Cells as well as Lung Endothelial Cells differentiations.
* Assess cell differentiation and quality using cell imaging, cell counting, viability assays, and flow cytometry–based readouts.
* Provide hands-on support for established QC and in-process testing to enable continued process development of in-house iPSC-derived cell…
