About Dig Energy, Inc.

Dig Energy is upending the economics of geothermal drilling: our a drilling system cuts borehole installation costs by 80%. This makes geothermal heating, cooling, and refrigeration the default option for commercial buildings everywhere, enabling a 24/7, available-anywhere energy source to scale for the first time. We've raised funding from top tier investors, are deploying rigs on live construction sites, and are scaling toward large projects.

The next year is laser focused on building the team and refining the equipment and systems that will be deployed in real time, on real job sites.

Given the hands on nature of our work, this is an on site role at our Manchester office.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced field technician to operate and maintain our custom geothermal drill rig. They will be the primary operator of the equipment for both R&D and customer installations. They must be able to follow clear test plans and communicate effectively with engineers on the outcomes of tests. They will also be responsible for all drilling activities at customer installations.

What

You Will Do
  • Mobilize, set up, operate, monitor, and demobilize drilling equipment and supporting systems.
  • Operate high‑pressure pumps, hydraulic systems, drilling equipment, tooling, controls, and related support equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, and replacement of wear components.
  • Install Dig Energy’s geothermal loops including finishing, flushing and grouting
  • Basic plumbing of geo fields
  • Support the testing and development of new drilling methods, tooling, equipment, and operating procedures.
  • Coordinate on site activities during full installations
Who You Are
  • 2-10 years of hands‑on field work in the drilling, construction or field service industry
  • Comfortable working on construction sites and in R&D environments
  • You are willing to travel frequently for both short and extended periods of time
  • You are comfortable working outdoors and performing physically demanding tasks, including standing, climbing, bending, lifting, carrying, and handling tools and equipment.
  • You have experience with heavy equipment, drilling, or industrial machinery
  • You have a valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
  • You have or are willing to obtain OSHA 10 or 30 certification
