Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary

A Senior Network Engineer will support TOS II at Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) on Arnold AFB, TN. The engineer will be an integral member of a team responsible for operating and maintaining the United States Air Force Test Operations efforts at AEDC.

• Architect, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Lead the development of network system requirements, including the preparation of engineering studies, reports, and design calculations.
• Configure network systems to meet and exceed DoD cybersecurity requirements and protocols.
• Provide critical support for test facility network systems, both in preparation for and during active operations.
• Develop and execute system verification and validation test plans to ensure network integrity and performance.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of network hardware and software, from evaluation and procurement to system maintenance and decommissioning.
• Drive the automation of network tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Act as a primary point of contact for troubleshooting complex network outages and performance issues to minimize downtime.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to other engineering staff, establishing best practices and common work processes.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network architecture, including concept sketches, layouts, and material estimates.
• Adhere to company policies, including wearing issued personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed.
• Perform related duties as required by the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering.
• 10 years of experience in network engineering.
• Or, 14 years of experience in network engineering in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to DoD network and computer systems.
• Current U.S. citizenship.

• 10+ years of proven, hands‑on experience in network engineering and architecture.
• Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), firewalls, and VPNs.
• Experience with computer-aided design/computer-aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or comparable.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects and solve analytical problems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Active DoD Secret or higher‑level security clearance.
• Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
