Job Description
The Production Lead position will be responsible for understanding the goals and priorities of the Operations Manager and successfully complete those priorities. This position will need to be able to lead the chemical operators in all desired responsibilities, such as safety, quality, and production metrics. This position will have the opportunity to learn the different aspects of the ink manufacturing process such as material planning and inventory accuracy.
Overall, this position will possess a desire to succeed, ability to learn quickly, adjust to the dynamic production environment, and a willingness to lead others to be successful in the task at hand.
- Motivate, lead and train chemical operations to meet production and quality goals and uphold performance standards.
- Coach and develop chemical operators on their daily functions and expectations.
- Maintain strong floor presence.
- Follows policies and procedures and actively demonstrates Company Code of Conduct
- Provide support in work area as needed, including assisting with all manufacturing duties when required.
- Assist the finance team by monitoring and coordinating inventory accuracy throughout the production process.
- Work with the materials group to ensure the production schedule is completed in an efficient and organized manner.
- Basic understanding of the SAP and Database for scheduling inks.
- Receive raw materials into inventory.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and do any and all necessary things to ensure a safe and productive work environment Provide leadership and guidance to employees.
- Ensure the chemical operators are performing all required responsibilities in a safe and productive manner.
- Prioritize work flow and assign work in responsible area.
- Must understand all job operations within area.
- Assist the Operation Manager to successfully manage the production area with the Safety, Quality, and Production metrics.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all associates.
- Inform the Quality lab technicians with the daily production priorities.
- Monitors and reports environmental related concerns to the site Environmental Engineer and/or Operation Manager, especially related to waste management (hazardous and non-hazardous).
- Understanding of all environmental and regulatory responsibilities of the LMTC.
- Work within a cross-functional team environment to understand the separate areas that affect the production process and provide the chemical operators clear direction to complete required task.
- Assist in PEAK techniques that are utilized throughout the production process.
- Successfully complete training in 49
CFR, IATA, and IMDG.
- Safety focus – Drive to improve safety performance, ensure safety rules/practices and good housekeeping is followed.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area.
Physical Requirements

- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Successful completion of eye exam with corrected vision at least 20/25 and ability to identify and distinguish colors; hearing exam; pulmonary function test and respirator fit test.
