About the Role

Haringey Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Early Years Officer to support the operational and day-to-day management of childcare provision within our Children’s Centres. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Early Years professional to play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality early education and childcare, ensuring inclusive, reflective, and outstanding practice in line with EYFS requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the operational management of the Early Years provision
  • Lead on high-quality EYFS curriculum planning and delivery
  • Support children with SEND, including involvement in assessments and EHCP planning
  • Contribute to safeguarding, child protection, and welfare procedures
  • Monitor, assess and review children’s development and progress
  • Support and supervise staff, including mentoring and training delivery
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals
  • Contribute to Ofsted readiness and inspection processes
  • Support student placements and partnership working with training providers
  • Promote parental engagement and inclusive practice
About You
  • A recognised Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of EYFS, SEND and child development
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs
  • Experience with in an integrated Early Years setting
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Experience supporting or supervising staff
  • Understanding of Ofsted standards and inspections
  • Good IT skills and report writing ability
