Assistant Manager

Located just North of the town in Bedford, The Pheasant has recently benefited from a transformational refurbishment with cosy seating nooks and a glorious terrace at the front. The Pheasant is what you might call a ‘proper pub’ serving a selection of real ales and craft beers, including the latest brews from down the road at Brewpoint.

Your role as Assistant Manager:

• Supporting the General Manager with the day‑to‑day running of the site in accordance with established company standards, policies and procedures
• Motivating and inspiring your team through a genuine passion for hospitality
• Ongoing training and development of the team
• Driving sales by maintaining excellent standards and exceeding customer expectations
• Maintain front of house standards and drive excellence in food, hotel, service and drink quality
• Adhere to all legislative requirements for people, safety, and licensing
• Conduct regular stock counts and compare to usage reports including waste records to identify opportunities for tighter control

What we are looking for:

• The ability to deliver excellent customer service and great team work in a fast paced and pressurised environment
• Energy and motivation to successfully lead and inspire your team
• Self‑motivation with excellent organisational and communication skills
• Previous experience in a management or leadership role within the hospitality industry - essential
• Passion for the industry and the challenges that come with it
