Hospitality & Events Assistant

  • £13.56 per hour

Overall job purpose

To provide flexible, high‑quality hospitality support across a range of events and venues in Manchester City Centre, ensuring guests receive a professional, efficient, and welcoming service.

Key responsibilities
  • Serve drinks (including alcoholic beverages) and food to guests in a professional manner.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest questions and queries.
  • Ensure all event areas remain clean, tidy, and presentable throughout service.
  • Assist with event set‑up, including preparing spaces before guests arrive.
  • Support post‑event clear‑down, resetting venues and turning over spaces between events.
  • Liaise with event management teams to ensure all requirements are met and last‑minute changes are implemented smoothly.
  • Assist with food delivery and service between venues as required.
  • Support kitchen teams with distributing food during sit‑down meals, conferences, graduations, and other large‑scale events.
  • Work flexibly across a wide range of hospitality environments and event types.
Hours and shifts
  • Various shift patterns, ranging from early mornings (7/8am starts) to evenings (up to 8pm).
  • Shift lengths vary from short shifts (3–4 hours) to longer shifts (10–12 hours), depending on event requirements.
  • Final shift timings to be confirmed.
Candidate requirements
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work across different event types and venues.
  • Strong customer service skills, with confidence in engaging with guests professionally.
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast‑paced environments with changing priorities.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to follow instructions from event management teams.
  • Comfortable serving alcohol and supporting both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house hospitality tasks.
  • Available to be responsive to varying needs of the client throughout allocated shifts.
