Pub Manager | Teddington Arms

We're looking for a confident, hands-on Pub Manager to take ownership of The Teddington Hands, a popular and established pub near Tewkesbury

This is an opportunity for someone who doesn't just want to keep a pub ticking over. We want a Manager who will drive the business forward and look for opportunities to grow sales and develop the pub, with the support of the Area Manager The Teddington Hands already has a strong customer base and is particularly well known for its popular carvery.

Looking ahead, we're keen to build on what already works, introduce new ideas and explore opportunities such as opening for breakfast in the near future. You'll take ownership of the day-to-day business, while reporting directly to the Area Manager, who will provide support, guidance and work with you on the continued development of the pub. For the right person, accommodation can also be available.

Quality Inns is a family-run pub group with multiple sites across Gloucestershire and Devon. We're not a traditional pub chain. Each of our pubs has its own identity, customer base and style, and we want our managers to have the confidence to take real ownership of their business. We focus on good, straightforward British pub food, welcoming service and creating pubs that people genuinely want to come back to.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall performance and day-to-day running of The Teddington Hands.

• Leading, motivating and developing the pub team
• Delivering consistently excellent customer service
• Driving sales and identifying opportunities to grow the business
• Maintaining and developing the pub's successful carvery offering
• Helping develop new trading opportunities
• Managing budgets, GP, labour, stock and wastage
• Recruiting, training and retaining a strong team
• Promoting the pub locally through social media, events and promotions
• Maintaining excellent standards across food, service, cleanliness and presentation
• Ensuring all health & safety, licensing and food hygiene requirements are met
• Working closely with your Area Manager on performance, targets and future plans for the pub

About you

You'll ideally have previous experience at management level within a busy, food-led pub or hospitality business. More importantly, we're looking for a hands-on manager who is happy to lead from the front and get stuck in alongside the team when needed. Alongside this, you'll be someone who is commercially minded, proactive and confident making decisions. You'll enjoy looking at what's working, what could be improved and finding practical ways to increase trade.
