We are inviting applications for a 0.5 FTE Research Assistant position on the SBE‑UKRI funded project Uncovering the causes of Look But Fail To See (LBFTS) errors. This project is an international collaboration between Johan Hulleman (University of Manchester) and Jeremy Wolfe (Harvard University). The project will run for two years (24.5 months).

Responsibilities

The post‑holder will be responsible for the day‑to‑day data collection and data analysis in the UK, helping to program experiments, preparing presentations and manuscripts, and preparing data for sharing. They will also support the preparation of data for publication and be encouraged to publish first‑author papers as part of the project’s capacity‑building commitment.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in psychology, biology, or computational science.
  • Strong understanding of the visual search field (essential).
  • Prior experience with eye‑tracking (Eyelink) and online experimentation using JavaScript (advantageous).
