Ecologist - Manchester

An award-winning multidisciplinary environmental consultancy is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Ecologist to join its growing Manchester-based ecology team.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly respected environmental and infrastructure consultancy delivering innovative ecological solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced environmental professionals on projects spanning transport, energy, residential, water, and major infrastructure sectors.

The role would suit an ecologist looking to develop technical expertise while contributing to meaningful and sustainable projects within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

As a Senior Ecologist, you will:

Undertake a range of protected species and habitat surveys
Assist with Ecological Impact Assessments and reporting
Support project delivery across multidisciplinary teams
Contribute to biodiversity and conservation strategies
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies
Help deliver practical, commercially focused ecological advice

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience with in ecological consultancy or a related field
Knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
Strong report writing and communication skills

Experience with protected species surveys (desirable)
Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIEEM
A full UK driving licence
