Ecologist

We're looking for an Ecologist to join our water engineering team based nationally (remote with travel to site and offices as required) within the water sector. Location: National (remote with travel to site and offices as required)
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
Salary: starting from £ 40,000 per year

• A holder of an Ecology degree or equivalent experience
• A CIEEM member, CIWEM member, or equivalent
• Experienced in UK Habitat survey, habitat condition assessments, Defra Biodiversity Metric and Biodiversity Net Gain plans
• Confident in authoring technical reports including PEAs, EcIAs, HRAs, survey reports and management plans
• Holder of a Full driving licence

As an Ecologist, you'll be working within the water engineering team, supporting them in delivering ecological consultancy services across exciting water sector projects. You'll provide services on a range of exciting projects across the UK water sector, acting as a focal point for technical advice, carrying out surveys, designing mitigation, overseeing licenced works, and promoting nature-based solutions and innovation across the business.

Your day to day will include:

• Leading ecological surveys, developing management plans and designing mitigation
• Authoring and reviewing technical ecological documents
• Ensuring ecological licences and consents are obtained in a timely manner
• Carrying out Ecological Clerk of Works duties supervising contractors to ensure compliance
• Supporting the team in facing technical challenges and mentoring junior ecologists
