Mobile Crane Engineer
Salary: 40-45k

37.5 Hours + OT
About your new company:
Seeking a skilled and customer-focused Mobile Crane Service Engineer to provide field-based maintenance, diagnostics, and repair support across our mobile crane product range. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimising customer downtime, and upholding the highest standards of safety and technical excellence.
The successful candidate will act as a key technical representative of the business, delivering high-quality service support while building strong relationships with customers.
About your new Crane Engineer role:
Diagnose, fault-find, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on mobile cranes
Perform scheduled servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance
Commission new cranes and support handovers to customers
Interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals
Complete detailed service reports and documentation accurately and promptly
Provide technical advice and support to customers on-site
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety standards
Support breakdown response and emergency callouts as required
Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in good condition
Strong knowledge of:
Diesel engines
Hydraulic systems
Electrical fault finding
PLC diagnostics (desirable)
Ability to read and interpret load charts and crane technical documentation
Experience working on large plant, heavy equipment, or cranes
What you will need to succeed:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle, or Engineering discipline
Proven experience servicing or repairing mobile cranes, heavy plant, or construction equipment
Valid driving licence
Manufacturer training (advantageous)
LEEA / CPCS / relevant industry certifications (region dependent)
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail
Customer-focused mindset
Ability to work independently in field-based environments
Excellent communication skills
Flexible and willing to travel
