Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Service Engineer – Manchester
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Service Engineer to join a growing and forward-thinking engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working across a diverse portfolio of high-profile commercial clients.
You’ll be working across a wide range of sectors including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, education, IT, retail, telecoms, local authorities, and specialist commercial environments, delivering both planned maintenance and reactive service work.
This is a field-based role offering genuine long-term stability, technical variety, and clear opportunities for progression within a supportive engineering business.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HVAC and refrigeration systems
* Diagnosing faults and delivering effective repair solutions across a range of equipment
* Working on systems including VRV/VRF, split systems, close control, cold rooms, chilled water systems, and chillers
* Supporting site surveys, producing reports, and assisting with quotations where required
* Ensuring all work is completed to high standards of safety, compliance, and workmanship
* Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota
* Providing excellent customer service and representing the business professionally on site
What We’re Looking For
* NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
* F-Gas qualified and compliant with current regulations
* Strong technical understanding of refrigeration and electrical principles
* Proven experience working on VRV/VRF systems, chillers, cold rooms, and HVAC plant
* Confident fault-finding and diagnostic ability across a range of systems
* Good understanding of industry standards, legislation, and compliance requirements
* Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
* Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently
