Painter & Decorator

North Manchester General Hospital – Crumpsall M8 5RB

Band 4 – £14.52 per hour – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Painter & Decorator who can also perform basic maintenance tasks and is interested in bringing your skills to your local NHS services? If so, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust wants to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out painting and decorating repairs where and when required.
  • Willing to carry out and/or assist in basic maintenance tasks not specific to painting and decorating when required.
  • Execute daily tasks and repairs to a high standard as instructed by the Building Supervisor.
  • Carry out minor wall repairs such as patch plastering.
  • Work as part of a team of painters and decorators.
  • Participate in the department’s Equipment Release and Permit to Work Systems.
  • Undertake Performance Monitoring.
  • Achieve acceptable standards of workmanship and productivity.
  • Report any issues relating to electrical, mechanical and building services and equipment to the appropriate Maintenance Supervisor.
Person Specification
  • NVQ Level 3 in painting and decorating or equivalent qualification.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to liaise with staff at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work on own initiative without supervision or as part of a team.
  • Capability to use step ladders, extension ladders and scaffolds (if qualified formally – PASMA).
  • Full clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Evidence of a vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience may be required.
