This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a keen eye for detail to contribute to the smooth running of our construction projects. The position is full-time and involves working on-site at various construction locations. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on construction plant machinery, including excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment. Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and diagnostic equipment.
Repair or replace faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime of machinery. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repairs carried out. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new plant equipment. Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies. Collaborate with site managers and other team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and operational needs. Keep the workshop and work areas clean, organised, and safe at all times.
Requirements Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or in a similar mechanical role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems related to heavy machinery. Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics accurately. Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to diagnostics and repairs. Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent are desirable.
Valid UK driving licence is essential; experience driving heavy plant equipment is advantageous. Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Commitment to health and safety standards in a demanding environment.
