Mobile Plant Fitter / Heavy Machinery Mechanic

North of England | £23ph - £28ph | Van + Benefits | Overtime Available

Ascend Talent are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter / Heavy Machinery Mechanic to join a rapidly growing team covering the North of England.

The Role

As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for:

Visiting customer sites across the North
Diagnosing faults on plant machinery
Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing
Completing breakdown repairs
Fault finding across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
Providing excellent customer support and representing the business professionally
You'll be joining a skilled mobile engineering team where every day brings something different.

⏰ 48-hour working week (with overtime available up to 60 hours if desired)

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have:

✅ Minimum 3 years' experience working with industrial plant machinery or heavy equipment
✅ NVQ or equivalent qualification (preferred)
✅ Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

Experience with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs
✅ Flexibility to work occasional weekends and overnight stays when required
✅ Full UK driving licence
