About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to maintain, service and repair a recycling and waste handling equipment at customer sites across the North West. The role will mainly involve travelling within a radius of your home, with occasional travel further afield when required (a company van is provided). You will be responsible for installing, fault-finding, servicing and repairing compactors, balers and other specialist equipment, ensuring machines remain safe, reliable and operational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on recycling and waste handling equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
  • Replace faulty components using hand and power tools.
  • Install, service and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems.
  • Test, recommission and verify equipment following repairs.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery, including three-phase electrical connections.
  • Prepare repair quotations and provide technical recommendations where required.
  • Complete service reports, inspection records
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation and customer site procedures.
Experience
  • Experience in servicing, maintaining or repairing recycling, waste management or similar industrial equipment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience using diagnostic and testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Basic welding skills for minor repairs.
  • A good understanding of health & safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
