Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Panel Wireman to join our production team. Working on the shop floor, you will be responsible for building, wiring, and testing electrical control panels to engineering drawings and wiring schematics. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing manufacturer delivering high-quality electrical control systems for a range of industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble and wire electrical control panels from engineering drawings and schematics.
* Install electrical components including PLCs, relays, contractors, terminals, circuit breakers, and variable speed drives.
* Carry out point-to-point wiring to a high standard.
* Read and interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schedules, and layout drawings.
* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality standards and relevant electrical regulations.
* Perform electrical continuity and functional testing of completed panels.
* Identify and resolve wiring faults during the build process.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
* Work closely with the engineering and production teams to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Panel Wireman, Electrical Assembler, or Electrical Fitter.
* Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
* Experience wiring industrial control panels.
* Good understanding of electrical components and panel layouts.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication skills.
Desirable
* Experience with PLC control panels.
* Knowledge of Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley, or Mitsubishi control systems.
* 18th Edition qualification (advantageous but not essential).
* City & Guilds or NVQ in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Experience carrying out electrical testing and fault finding.
