Our client is seeking a highly skilled Tail Lift Fitter to join their specialised coach building team based in Trafford Park.

• Opportunities for overtime and career progression within a growing company Duties of a Tail Lift Fitter:
• Install, service, and repair a range of commercial vehicle tail lifts, including column, tuckaway, cantilever, and passenger lifts
• Carry out LOLER inspections, ensuring all certification and documentation meet legal safety standards
• Diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, lighting circuits, and control units
• Work with hydraulic systems: hose replacements, ram repairs, pump servicing, and leak detection
• Assist in integrating tail lifts into new vehicle builds and conversions alongside the coach building team
• Conduct thorough pre-delivery checks to ensure all lifting equipment is safe, functional, and compliant
• Maintain accurate records of service, repairs, and inspections as a Tail Lift Fitter
• Follow all health and safety procedures to sustain a safe working environment
• Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and customers as required Requirements of a Tail Lift Fitter:
• Essential LOLER certification with proven experience in performing statutory inspections
• Strong knowledge of vehicle wiring, electrical fault-finding, and 12V/24V systems
• Understanding of hydraulic systems and related components
• Experience fitting or maintaining tail lifts, mobility lifts, or similar lifting equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
• Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable experience to be a Tail Lift Fitter:
• Previous experience in a coach building, commercial vehicle bodywork, or automotive engineering environment
