About this jobYour new company An established multidisciplinary environmental and engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal or Associate Arboricultural Consultant to join its growing team in Manchester.
With a strong reputation for delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice across residential, commercial, infrastructure and public sector developments, the organisation continues to expand its specialist arboricultural services throughout the UK. Your new role As a Principal or Associate Arboricultural Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality arboricultural services whilst supporting the continued growth of the business.
Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you will manage client relationships, oversee project delivery and contribute to the development of junior team members.
Key responsibilities will include- Undertaking BS5837 tree surveys and development-related arboricultural assessments.
- Producing Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA), Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS), Tree Protection Plans (TPP) and tree risk management reports.
- Conducting professional tree inspections and Quantified Tree Risk Assessments (QTRA). Advising clients throughout the planning and development process.
- Managing projects from inception through to completion, including budgets, programmes and stakeholder expectations.
- Reviewing technical reports and supporting quality assurance processes.
- Mentoring and supporting junior consultants.
- Preparing fee proposals, contributing to tenders and supporting business development activities.
- Representing the business at client meetings, networking events and industry forums.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry or a related discipline.
- Current Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) registration.
- Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) certification.
- Strong knowledge of BS5837, tree risk management and the UK planning system.
- Experience writing and reviewing technical reports.
- Strong commercial awareness and client-facing skills.
- Membership of the Arboricultural Association, Institute of Chartered Foresters or a similar professional body.
- Progression towards Chartered status would be advantageous.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Competitive salary of £45,000 - £60,000 (DOE)
